Stewarts offers respite services to children and adults with intellectual disability, whom are currently availing Stewarts Schooling or Day Services.

Respite breaks are on a rotational, planned basis with the respite committee and family for a week, weekend or midweek slot It is designed to give the main caregiver and family a break and the service users a holiday, widen their horizons, to make new friend, an opportunity to live away from the family home, to incorporate fun activities, community participation and to promote choice.

We strive to continuously improve our quality of service, to be person centred, to meet the diversity of need. Our nursing staff will meet the high nursing need of some service users and inconjunction with the clinic team can assess, plan and implement programmes of self help, social skills and behavioural support which can be continued at home and at school.
