As Social Workers, we adopt an holistic approach, collaborating internally and externally utilising available resources. We strive to increase client's independence, enabling them to participate in their community. Social Workers work with individuals and families enabling clients to develop and maintain meaningful relationships.

Some of our work with other disciplines includes Induction Programme; Trust in care Training, Anger Management Programme, Friendship Relationships and Sexuality Programme. In the last year the Social Work Department was involved in the publication of a leaflet on the role of Social Work in Learning Disability,

In summary, the aim of the Social Work Department is to work in partnership with service users, their families, carers, staff and service providers to identify need, to facilitate emotional and practical support, to empower service users to become as independent as possible and to maintain the highest possible quality of life.
