Job Title: Grant Development Specialist Grade V

Stewarts Care is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive community based services to people with an intellectual disability since its foundation in 1869. We support people with a wide range of support needs across residential settings, day services, supported independent living, job advocacy and vocational training. We are committed to driving positive change in our community and beyond, and we are seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a Grant Development Specialist.

Purpose of the Post

 As a Grant Development Specialist, the successful applicant will be responsible for securing funding to support the development and growth of Stewarts Care's initiatives and projects. The Grant Development Specialist will be responsible for researching, identifying, and applying for grants from various foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organisation's mission, goals, programs and key fundraising projects.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive grants, awards and opportunities calendar, tracking deadlines, requirements, and outcomes.

Collaborate with Directors and Program Managers and appropriate staff to gather necessary information and data for grant applications.

Write compelling grant proposals, narratives, and where needed obtain appropriate quotes to effectively communicate the organisation's impact and funding needs.

Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including submission, follow-up, and reporting requirements.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with grant-making organisations, donors, and stakeholders.

Stay informed about trends, best practices, and changes in the grant-making landscape.

Candidates should demonstrate the following:

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant qualification (such as Social Care, Nursing, Communications, Business).

  • Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development within the nonprofit sector.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.

  • Strong research skills and attention to detail, with the ability to gather, analyse, and synthesize information from diverse sources.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

  • Demonstrate commitment to the organisation's mission and values.

Salary is in accordance with HSE consolidated pay scales, €48,085 – €57,573 LSI.

This is a part time position, 21 hours per week.
