Stewarts is a long established voluntary organisation providing comprehensive community based services to people with an intellectual disability in the West Dublin area.
Purpose of Post:
To be responsible, under the direction of the Clinical Director of HSCP for the planning, organising and co-ordinating of Social Work Services throughout Stewarts Care. The Senior Social Worker will have a significant leadership role in the planning and management of change in the provision of services within their department and will hold the overall responsibility for the provision of an effective social work service.
The Senior Social Worker will work with other members of the department offering supports to service users and their families and will work at a professional practice level in addition to holding a management role within the department.
We are seeking an energetic, flexible, innovative and enthusiastic senior social worker to join our multi-disciplinary team to provide a quality evidence based Social Work service, including assessment of family needs, and a range of advisory, practical and skilled emotional supports to families and adults with disabilities. Group work, safeguarding and training work are also important aspects of the role.
The Senior Social worker will carry a case load, including a greater complexity of individual/family need, supervise social work staff & students as required and take the social work lead in key areas of service development.
Ability to manage and prioritize a busy caseload, and work in an inter-disciplinary way using a family centred practice approach are also keys requirements of the role

Possess a National Qualification in Social Work (NQSW)
At least 3 years post qualification experience as a social worker.
Be registered in the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Board at CORU
Have a full clean driving licence and access to a car
Experience of working with families & adults with intellectual disabilities.
Experience of working in Disability, Safeguarding, Group work, acting in a senior position are desirable but not essential.
Salary and qualifications are in accordance with Department of Health & Children Regulations and HSE consolidated pay scales. Current Salary Scale: Senior Social Worker Salary Scale €60,724 to €70,045 per annum
